This early season clinic will offer both groundwork and ridden sessions that focus on exercises to improve horses’ conditioning and ease of movement. Riders will leave with a toolbox of routines that are useful for their particular horse.
Jec Ballou believes that no matter the discipline, your horse needs to be an athlete first.
At this clinic, she will focus on immediately applicable tools and techniques that will allow you and your horse to perform confidently and comfortably.

What does the clinic entail?
This early season clinic will offer both groundwork and ridden sessions that focus on exercises to improve horses’ conditioning and ease of movement. Riders will leave with a toolbox of routines that are useful for their particular horse.
In the morning, we’ll spend 90 minutes doing groundwork exercises together in a group format; exercises will emphasize improving horses’ posture, balance, and overall use of core. Students will learn the purpose of each exercise plus which ones are most relevant for their own horse, and how to build a helpful daily routine.
After the morning groundwork session, riders will each have a one-hour semi-private (3 riders in each session) riding lesson where we explore cavalletti exercises and various routines to optimize how each horse is able to use its body.
Every student has the opportunity to do 90-minute groundwork session in the morning and a semi-private lesson.
