How long have you been a member of Equitopia?
Since Autumn 2017 (I think 🙂 )
Why did you join Equitopia?
I loved the videos and I wanted to support the creators and also to get acces to more information.
What do you enjoy most about Equitopia?
The variety of different topics.
What do you love most about horsemanship?
I do not like the word “horsemanship” :). It has connection with (from my point of view) methods that aren’t really ethical. I like to call it the relationship with a horse and what I love about it? The immediate feedback from the horse, no pretending, no mind games, just pure “being in the moment”, enjoing the life as it is. Horses are so honest and if you let yourself to listen, you can learn so much not just about horses but about yourself :).
How do you define success in horsemanship?
By overall happiness and quality of life of the horse :).
Who inspires you – and why?
My mare mostly, but also a lot of trainers and other professionals. If I had to mention some names then: Manolo Mendez, Georgie Welge, Kristina Koudelova, Magda Frantlova and many others. The thing that I find most inspiring is their thirst for knowledge not only in their main field of focus but also in related fields, to better understand every connection and to help horses and riders to be better.
If you could choose anyone as a mentor, who would you choose?
Well I am so very lucky that I have people who I consider to be my mentors around me already: Kristina Koudelova and Georgie Welge. And if I could I would definetily love to get mentorship from Manolo Mendez.
What’s one thing – either horse-related or not – you learned in the last month?
My mare, who recently had severe DDFT injury is currently teaching me mostly patience and how to work with positive reinforcement and also how incredibly inteligent she can be when her motivation is high :).
What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?
Apart from horses I love mathematics, physics and A.I. generated art, which became my hobby lately 🙂
What’s your favorite book?
I will have to go with Harry Potter series, as it is strongly linked with me growing up and it brings me so many great memories.
What’s your favorite movie of all time?
12 Angry Men
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Spaghetti carbonara or Lasagna 🙂
If you were told you could say 1 thing that the entire horse world would act on, what would that be?
Knowing is not the point, the point is to understand why. And that applies to everything in life and especially to applying anything to your horse :).
